I am new at this forum thing and don't know quit what to do. I have a Pacu fish that was given to us along with a oscar and a 55 gallon set up, the kid no longer took care of them so we took them off their hands, n-e-way he (pacu) is way to big for this tank an we cannot afford to buy a tank to fit him. If there is anyone intrested in taking care of him and or knows what I can do with him I-E rescues or anyother options please respond. I do not want him killed or eaten I want him to be put in a good home where he can swim freely. Thank You

I think most fish stores will take them, you could post in the classified section of this forum to sell him, or on craigslist or ebay even I'm sure. As far as I know most fish stores will take them though. Good luck, I would take him if I could but I only have a 10 gallon so that won't work out too well lol. And welcome

As of now I am planning on planting it with Java Fern, Java Moss and Watersprite.
I also plan on getting 4 Scarlet Badis, 5 Cherry Barbs and 2 Zebra Otos (or regular otos)

Just wanted to pop in and say it's a frickin shame that pet stores are allowed to sell these fish without warning people that they end up getting absolutely gigantic, just like bala sharks/pictus cats/plecos. Really hope you find a home for the poor fellow.

Try a public aquarium or a larger fish only LFS. we had a customer drop off a 2 pound pacu in the middle of winter at my old work, its still there in a 500g holding tank, we cant find ANY home for him.


Also try craigslist.
