Chat Room Ideas.

I always like to use the chatroom in this site, but it seems that many other members here don't use it. It would be such a handy feature if more people could use it. This thread is an open thread in simply throwing out ideas on how we can improve the chat room and to incourage people to use it more.

I agree, but we have to get something to draw the crowd, like a raffle or something where you have to be present in chat on a given nite to win. Also a shoutbox is in the works, which i think makes for a friendlier site, as people who can just Mini-chat at will from the front page, become closer. and more like a family. Jarred has a list of things to do as long as his arm, and i know he is working feverishly to get them going.

This is the young person that I conversed with who is serving in the military and I would suggest anyone seeing them on the chatroom visit with them as it is a very pleasant experience and I would love to visit again. Just have not seemed to be here when they are.

We do have group chat nights on Tuesday (saltwater topics) and Thursday (freshwater topics).
Notifications for it will be re-enabled soon, we used to send out reminders when it started and it was fairly active. A site overhaul did away with them but I'll bring them back soon.

You can always do what I do and just PM the people that I see that I think would go to chat when I am ready to start one.

If all goes well tomorrow, the reminder will go out about group chat night so that's back in action now.

Im sure, everyone but me already knew this but, the chatroom also has a very nice Realtime Private chat feature, just like an IM, where anyone can go to instant message, just like chat but in a little private room all your own with no waiting for PM.
