Yours is actually fine. It's just an informative site. It doesn't directly contain any sale advertisements, and it isn't a competing forum, so there's no issue

Just being thick here but want to make sure I've got the finer points using a couple of examples.

If someone asks a question about air pumps and I post a link to a site (no connection to me) that sells air pumps to show an example of the type of air pump that I think will solve their problem, is that ok?

If someone asks where is a good place to buy live plants online is it okay to post a link to a site I have used and like that sells plants?

I wouldn't see any thing wrong with any of that.
