Default what's that fish at Marine Warehouse called?

anyone been to the Marine warehouse on Hillsborough ave in Tampa recently? in the freshwater section, last tank on the left, is a LARGE fish that sort of reminds me of an eel, kind of has leg-ish fins, like a reallllly big blenny sort of thing, sort of kind of. i can't remember what they are called! and i'd like to do research on him. i'm dying to have him!!!!!!!! why? because when i looked into the top of the tank to see a bad sore on his side (he had two) he lifted himself up all the way to the top of the water and put his nose close to mine. i was errrr, sort of afraid he'd bite me! but i think he was saying "how about a meal and get me out of here please. i'd walk away and come back, and he did that EVERY single time i'd put my face above his tank. he'd come to the end, raise himself up and go nose to nose with me. i LOVE him. BUT, is he too big or will he be too big for a 65 gallon? and will he harm my two little clown loaches? the clown loaches grow SO slow, i'm not at all worried about them outgrowing the tank. (i'm out of college next december and i am counting the days because i want a much larger tank then, and also because i am sick of studying and being sorta poor hahahaha
